Permanent Treatment of Jock Itch is Now Possible!

Hi Guys! I hope you all are doing good… Today I am going to talk about the Permanent Treatment of Jock Itch. Eight of my relatives have been facing this issue for over a year now. They have tried different ointments, oils, medications etc but nothing seems to help. They often discussed their problem with me as I am a skincare enthusiast and know quite a lot about it.

Honestly speaking, it really sounded distressing to me. I tried my best to look for treatments and remedies online so that I could help them out. BUT I had no idea how painful this condition actually was until I suffered from it. YES! I also acquired this skin problem seven months ago and that was the moment when I actually understood how worrying it was.

Even I tried some over the counter medications but they just seemed to help me temporarily. The fact that the medicines for “jock itch” are usually steroids, added more to my concern. They would only give me instant relief when I took the medicine. As soon as I left it, the itching and fungal infection were back.

Over a period of seven months, I tried almost everything available on the internet and followed all pieces of advice that I could hear. I met several dermatologists but at last, nothing helped me cure this disease/skin condition completely. From garlic to neem, I literally tried each and everything. When nothing could help me get complete relief, I came to the conclusion that Permanent Treatment of Jock Itch is NOT Possible!

What is Jock Itch?

Jock Itch is an embarrassing skin condition that usually occurs in the groin area. It is a kind of rash or ringworm that is red in color initially. With time, it gets darkened and black in color. It is also known as ‘tinea cruris”. Not only an embarrassing condition, it is a very painful and irritating skin issue. The itching caused by tinea cruris is very intense and vivid. Although it mainly appears in the groin area, it can also occur in various parts of the body.

This skin condition is mainly found in males but nowadays, a lot of females are also acquiring it. Generally, jock itch is caused by moisture or fungal growth on the skin. Some of the main areas that are affected by jock itch are the inner thighs, penis, scrotum, buttocks, vagina, and anus. It is advised not to scratch the skin to avoid infection from worsening or spreading but it is literally impossible to do so.

What all did I try?

As I mentioned earlier, I kept on looking for home remedies and treatments everywhere in the scope to at least get some relief. After around five months, I had actually assumed that I will never be able to get rid of this problem permanently. Then, what I started looking for was just something that could relax my skin and reduce the itch.

Many websites claimed that they had the permanent treatment of jock itch but nothing could help me get permanent relief. I tried following all advices and doing all home remedies, that too consistently, hoping that something or the other would help but the itch would never go. It would come over and over again.

There came a time when I concluded that home remedies can only reduce the itching and fungal infections. I tried many home remedies such as Apple Cider Vinegar, Baking Soda, Cornstarch, Aloe Vera, Garlic, Honey, Lemon, Onion, Coconut Oil, Neem etc. Some of the remedies did not suit me while some of them did. Some were bearable but some were extremely painful.

I also tried several tips for treatment/relief from this issue. First of all, I made sure to wash my inner thighs two to three times a day with an anti-fungal intimate wash. Additionally, I also kept the groin area dry always. I completely avoided fabrics which could increase skin irritation. From underwear to my entire clothing, I strictly stuck to cotton clothes. I washed my clothes with warm water and in an antiseptic liquid. I also avoided harsh laundry detergents. BUT nothing could help me out.

I took steroid medications such as fluconazole, itraconazole and terbinafine. Later, I also used Candid 1% Dusting Powder regularly. I also applied certain skin ointments. These are the main formulations of the skin ointments which I remember:

  1. Ofloxacin, Ornidazole, Terbinafine Hydrochloride & Clobetasol Propionate Cream (Sold as Orniderm Cream and Dermiwock OC Cream in India)
  2. Clobetasol Propionate, Gentamicin, Tolnaftate, Iodochlorhydroxyquionoline & Ketoconazole Cream (Sold as Dermigen KT in India)

What Worsened my Jock Itch?

There were some days when my skin would be a little relaxed but some days were extremely uncomfortable for me. Whenever I ate meat, red or white doesn’t matter, I couldn’t sleep properly the entire night. Eating fish was almost impossible for me. Dried fruits and eggs also increased the itching vividly.

How did I finally find the Permanent Treatment of Jock Itch?

After around two months of jock itch, I got pregnant. So, I couldn’t take any medication at all as it wasn’t safe. At least my relatives could get temporary relief from antifungal medications but I couldn’t. This urged me to search more and more. I wanted to get relief and permanent treatment as soon as possible. My skin was already going through a lot of drastic changes due to pregnancy and jock itch took all my relief.

Moreover, I was worried about the vaginal bleeding that I would have to go through postpartum. It could lead to more infections and discomfort. Long story short, after trying a lot of remedies, ointments, and medication, I have finally found the permanent treatment of jock itch. I hope this post helps you get relief permanently but please remember, I am not a medical professional. Please make sure to do a test before trying these methods. Everyone’s body is different and your skin may be allergic to some things which mine isn’t.

What are the tested and tried remedies, tips and medicines for the Permanent Treatment of Jock Itch?

First of all, make sure to change your clothes, especially your undergarments every single day. Do not use any soap except Neem in it. Keep your soap separate and always use a dry towel. Also, do not share your towel with anyone. Keep a separate towel for drying out your body and for drying out the infected area. If you use a single towel, the infection can spread to other parts of your body. Also, do not keep the skin moist at all. Make sure to keep some paper towels in your toilet as well so that your groin area does not have any sort of moisture at all.

Now that we are done with the tips, let us move to some habits and daily routines. Get some Epsom salt for yourself and prefer one that is infused with Australian tea tree oil. If you are from India, I would highly recommend you to get Ryaal Dr. Salt Epsom Salt with Australian Tea Tree Essential Oil. None of the products are sponsored and the names are just mentioned to help you out even more. There may be better products and brands, but these are the ones which helped me the most.

If you can take a bath with bucket or in a bath tub, always add around twenty drops of tea tree oil in around 25 litres of water. Rey Naturals Tea Tree Essential Oil and Mesmara Australian Tea Tree Essential Oil are the two brands of tea tree oil in India which I can swear by. After taking shower, add three tablespoons Epsom salt into a mug with lukewarm water. Rinse your infected area with this infused water and do not wash it off with plain water then. If you don’t have Epsom salt, repeat the same process after taking shower with tea tree oil.

Switch your medication from allopathy to homeopathy. Homeopathic medicines are completely safe, even in pregnancy. They help in actually diagnosing and curing a disease permanently instead of suppressing the symptoms temporarily. Two of the homeopathic medicines that I took regularly for a period of 7 weeks are Graphites and Petroleum.

A mixture of these two homeopathic medicines worked effectively for me. They reduced my itching within around seven-nine days and I could notice a reduction in the redness caused by fungal growth on my skin. Each night, apply a mixture of one teaspoon coconut oil and ten drops of tea tree oil on the infected area. Even if the symptoms have suppressed and there is some relief, do not stop following this routine.

Do this regularly for at least a period of ten weeks to completely get rid of this problem. My jock itch took around nine and a half weeks to completely go away. Even if you think that your fungal infection is completely gone, there may still be fungus relying on your skin that you can’t see with naked eyes.

Lastly, apply Q-Ring Lotion for around a week once a day. I am not sure if you can get it in a pharmacy near your home, but you can purchase it from here… http://www.amariapharmacy.in/shop/general-health/q-ring-lotion/

This is an anti-fungal lotion for ringworm, itches and eczema by Amaria Pharmacy. It is a powerful blend of Unani ingredients which helped in the speedy recovery of my skin. On top of that, it is very affordable. I got it for just Rs 35 for 20 ml. This lotion is completely safe for the skin but make sure to do a patch test.

  1. I used to get yeast infections when I would take antibiotics. I haven’t taken antibiotics in years so no infections. 🙂 But when I did take them, I learned to eat plenty of plain yogurt, and stay away from things that had yeast in them. interesting to read that fruits can cause it too. Thanks for the info.
